Consistently adheres to hospital policy regarding the insertion, maintenance and removal of foley catheters, if applicable. Able to verbalize and demonstrate proper rationale and techniques surrounding all aspects of indwelling urinary catheter care as per policy # 4668. Fulfills the requirements for competencies and completion of annual mandatories surrounding indwelling urinary catheters. Takes a patient assignment when necessary. Collaborates with Emergency Medical Services and Emergency Telecommunication to ensure optimal continuity of care, from pre-hospital to hospital. Coordinates educational and process improvement activities including case reviews with EMS teams. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing required or must obtain within 3 years from date of hire (or internal transfer) as a condition of employment Minimum of two years of emergency nursing experience required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Current NJ RN License required. CPR Certification required. ACLS certification required. 8 hours of basic trauma education required to be achieved within the first year and maintained thereafter.
