PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES : · Understand and adhere to information and precautions contained in individual client’s Care Plan. · Assist the client with personal care activities including: bathing, skin care, back rub, hair care, nail care, dressing and undressing, feeding, oral hygiene, shaving, grooming and bedtime care. · Assist the client to the bathroom or in use of urinal or bedpan. Keep incontinent clients clean and dry. · Assist the client with client's self-administration of medications. · Assist the client with personal communication skills, as needed. · Prepare appropriate documentation of the client care or service(s) furnished. · Report all client and employee incidents/accidents to supervisor immediately. · Assist the client with supervising exercise, ambulation and transfer activities. Be aware of proper body mechanics. · Ensure maintenance of a clean, safe, comfortable and healthy environment for the client. · Observe safety precautions, including: wiping up wet floors, spills and other falling hazards immediately. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility. Monitor residents and report any changes in condition to the nursing team. Take and record vital signs as assigned. Maintain accurate documentation of resident care. Ensure resident rooms and common areas remain clean, safe, and comfortable. Work closely with nurses and the interdisciplinary team to provide outstanding resident care. Treat every resident with dignity, respect, and compassion. Qualifications for the Geriatric Nurse Assistant (GNA): Current Maryland Geriatric Nurse Assistant (GNA) Certification required. Previous experience as a Geriatric Nurse Assistant (GNA) in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility is preferred but not required. Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift, reposition, and transfer residents safely.
