Job Description This Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position is a predominately ambulatory clinic and OR role located primarily at: SLH. The primary patient population is adult. There is a weekend and holiday commitment for this role. The employee will be responsible for the medical management of the Neurosurgery patient population within the scope of an Advanced Practice Provider. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care accordingly, follow standardized triage protocols to quickly identify patients who require immediate attention due to life-threatening conditions Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries which may involve administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain In cases of severe illness or trauma, you may assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions, this can include advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and trauma care Manage high-stress and rapidly changing situations effectively. remain calm, focused, and decisive while providing care to multiple patients simultaneously during busy shifts or mass casualty events Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire. 6. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire required. 7. Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred. 8. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred. 9. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below): 1. In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current. 2. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire. 3.
