Professional Staff Nurse, BSN - Endoscopy UPMC Specialty Care York Endoscopy is seeking a dedicated Professional Staff Nurse, BSN to join our team. Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: UPMC-approved national certification preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located. CPR certification required based on AHA standards that includes both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. Graduate Nurses (GNs) must complete the licensure examination within six months of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first. Temporary permits are valid for one year from the date of graduation, or until examination results are known, at which time the permit becomes null and void. UPMC requires Graduate Nurses to take the licensure examination within six months of their start date. Failure to do so may result in termination or demotion from the Graduate Nurse position at the discretion of the business unit. Overview Lancaster Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is excited to welcome an experienced and compassionate LPN Wound Care Coordinator to our nursing team! This is a full-time, hourly clinical position focused on coordinating and supporting the facility’s wound care program. The Wound Care Coordinator works closely with the Director of Nursing, nursing staff, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to promote skin integrity, support wound healing, and help ensure high-quality resident care. The typical schedule for this position is 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with hours subject to change based on facility needs and the direction of the Director of Nursing. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and support the facility’s day-to-day wound care program in accordance with nursing standards, facility policies, and applicable regulations. Maintain a current report of narcotics received and used. Review daily the documentation of the dispensing of the controlled substances and narcotics. Place pharmacy orders, for and administer all newly prescribed medications and document. Carry out direct contemporaneous charting in your shift. The Nurse is responsible for promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for clients all clients of BriteLife Recovery. At BriteLife Recovery, we offer a unique opportunity for nurses to maintain their therapeutic relationships with their patients without the chaos and unsafe staffing ratios that are common in the hospital setting. There are no bedpans, IVs, or bed alarms and all clients perform their own ADLs. What tasks are required? Assists clinical team with the Admissions process; Administers medications, treatments and procedures according to standard nursing practices and applicable facility policies; Carries out a plan of care and medication orders from Physicians and Nurse Practitioners; Educates clients regarding potential side effects of medications and observes for side effects; Monitors clients for substance misuse related withdrawal symptoms; Maintains electronic health records (EHR); Provides crisis management (often involving intoxicated clients); Positively promotes BriteLife Recovery to prospective clients and employees. Assists with solving resident’s problems by working with the interdisciplinary team. What we need from you? Current LPN or RN license in good standing in Pennsylvania. Experience with documentation and data entry within an EHR. Experience working with alcohol or substance use treatment preferred. Demonstrated computer proficiency. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally. Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to interact with staff and clients in a professional manner. Ability to assess needs and deliver nursing services to individuals detoxifying from substance use. Ability to screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms. Ability to screen for danger to self or others. Ability to analyze and interpret data to determine nursing recommendations and priorities. Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct. Participation in continuing Professional Development. Understanding of the benefits and limitations of toxicology testing procedures. Knowledge of strategies for treating alcohol, cocaine, and other drug use. Knowledge of medication-assisted therapy. Ability to provide education and information to individuals and groups, through formal and/or informal processes, concerning their substance use. Demonstrated knowledge of accepted principles of client record management.
