A Brief Overview The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. Inpatient Trauma & Trauma/Surgical ICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Position Overview: Inpatient Trauma/Trauma & Surgical ICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers direct patient care consistent with the APP’s education, experience, and certification, in collaboration with the attending Trauma Surgery physicians. This includes a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to provide advanced, evidence-based care to critically ill patients. The APP will be expected to have a thorough understanding of trauma care and management, including advanced skills in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute and critically ill patients. Key Responsibilities: · Collaborate with Trauma attending physicians, general surgery residents, and APPs to complete daily rounds on the trauma and surgical floors and in the intensive care unit (ICU). · Collecting data and interpreting laboratory and imaging results in developing and document assessments and care plans. · Working collaboratively with surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams, the APP manages complex postoperative and medically fragile patients across a wide range of surgical specialties, including trauma, acute care surgery, transplant, vascular, and general surgery. · Perform bedside procedures for both surgical and non-surgical patients · Work with the team to complete timely documentation and carry out care plans effectively. · Partner with Trauma APPs, Trauma attendings, surgical residents, nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapies, social work and case management to develop disposition plans with a multidisciplinary team approach. · Respond to trauma cases in the resuscitation bay, perform trauma survey assessments, and stabilize high-acuity patients in accordance with Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) guidelines. · Promote consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and patient advocacy. · Uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System. Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Night Shift Position Overview: The Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers direct patient care consistent with the APP’s education, experience, and certification, in collaboration with the attending Trauma Surgery physicians. This includes the diagnosis, management, and referral of health care issues specific to Trauma. The APP will provide comprehensive overnight management of adult trauma patients in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center environment. The Trauma Night APP will primarily provide overnight coverage for patients admitted to the Trauma Service, respond to trauma activations, and assist with the evaluation and management of acute changes in patient condition. This role provides an opportunity to practice at the highest level of an APP’s training while caring for a diverse and complex trauma population. The Trauma Night APP will remain separate from the Trauma/Surgical ICU APP team and will not be responsible for routine ICU coverage or management.
