The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following: Locating patients, obtaining accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures, triaging patients, assessing patients’ medical condition, and preparing patients for physicals and medical treatment by Physicians and Nurses; Understanding and using the electronic medical record system; Ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed; Notifying the Nurse and/or Physician when the patient is ready for exam while communicating symptoms and relaying questions about lab or x-ray needs; Assisting Nurses and Physicians with various forms of patient treatment and care; Handling Physician and Nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner; Performing lab duties as assigned; Performing phlebotomy procedures; Sterilizing and setting up instruments; Receiving and storing supplies; restocking treatment rooms as needed; Reporting to the Charge Nurse before leaving at the end of the shift; Following ancillary guidelines as deemed necessary by the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, DMS, and Physician; Adhering to established policies and procedures; Maintaining cleanliness of the treatment area and completing biological cleanup in accordance with OSHA guidelines and other maintenance assignments as directed; Washing, drying, folding, and restocking laundry; maintaining the cleanliness of the washing machine and dryer lint trap; Attending staff meetings as scheduled by the Nurse Supervisor or DMS; Operating, using, and maintaining medical and office equipment as trained; Completing assigned checklists and Policy Manager tasks within the assigned shift; Being available to assist as needed, as breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted at any time to provide necessary patient care or to maintain center operations; Fostering teamwork and ensuring a positive and professional atmosphere; Providing positive, warm, and friendly service in all interactions; Understanding and performing all duties as assigned. Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following: Must be 18 years of age or older; Minimum typing experience; High school graduate or equivalent; Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred; Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system; Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4 to 7 hours at a time); Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills; Ability to prioritize and multitask; Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work.

Are you living your life's work? LG Health Physicians Family and Maternity Medicine is seeking a Part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. Our group is comprised of 9 family physicians all serving as faculty members in the Family and Community Medicine Residency program as well as 3 APPs (soon to be 4). We serve an economically, racially, and culturally diverse population comprised of greater than 50% Medicaid recipients. Our scope of practice is full spectrum family medicine and therefore would be extremely flexible in terms of personal interests and desire for professional growth. From obstetrics care to virtually any procedure within primary care to MAT for substance use disorders, there is opportunity at Family and Maternity medicine. However, APP spectrum of care could be tailored to training and comfort level. We serve patients across the lifespan and many of our family medicine physicians deliver babies at WBH. Because the majority of the group is comprised of teachers of family medicine, there is a true culture of learning and creativity which pushes us all to practice the most evidenced based medicine and continually improve. This APP would function as a primary care provider and carry a panel of patients in addition to acute care. Family and Maternity Medicine has one location attached to WBH. Given the proximity to WBH, most ancillary services are very accessible to our patients, including radiology, physical therapy, laboratory services, etc. Hours: Part-time, 0.5 FTE. Dayshift and include Tuesday evenings. No overnight call and no weekend hours. Please note that this role may be combined with other part-time positions to create full-time employment within the organization. Lancaster General Hospital, a Level I-accredited Trauma Center, recently completed a major expansion and remodel of the ED that nearly doubled the size of the department, from 63 beds to 95 beds. This includes 10 beds in our updated and expanded behavioral health unit, and 13 dedicated pediatric beds. The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice Apprentice is a newly licensed new to practice RN or RN with less than 15 months of experience that demonstrates basic safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice Apprentice seeks guidance to integrate concepts, knowledge, skills and attitudes to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice. The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice Apprentice exhibits Penn Medicine’s experience standards which reflect its mission and are embedded in the professional practice competency domains. The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice Apprentice is accountable for the provision of direct care to patients who may range in age from infancy to the elderly and demonstrates within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Teamwork and Technology Informatics. The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice Apprentice works closely with the interprofessional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The nurse focuses on developing the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations of assigned patients. The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice Apprentice requires consultation with more experienced clinicians and benefits from feedback while demonstrating growth in the ability to care for increasingly complex patients. The nurse demonstrates how nursing practice impacts the organizational vision, mission, and goals and the care delivery system. The nurse complies with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies. The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice Apprentice must complete all Clinical Nurse 1 competencies and is expected to advance to the Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague level by 18 months of professional practice. Minimum Required Qualifications: RN licensure is required, issued by the PA Board of Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN or higher level nursing degree is required within 3 years of RN hire date. New hires who start their employment with a temporary practice permit must sit for their NCLEX within 60 days of starting in their RN role. A graduate registered nurse may only practice professional nursing under supervision and if the graduate registered nurse holds a current temporary practice permit. Supervision means that a licensed registered nurse is physically present in the area or unit where the graduate registered nurse is practicing. All Clinical Nurse 1 RN’s will be required to successfully complete the Nurse Residency Program. CPR Certification - American Heart Association AHA Basic Life Support, formerly Healthcare Provider AHA Heart Saver courses for CPR are not accepted required within 30 days of hire.
