Trauma and Emergency General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Position Overview: The Trauma and Emergency General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers direct patient care consistent with the APP’s education, experience, and certification, in collaboration with the attending Trauma and Emergency General Surgery physicians. The Ahuja Medical Center Step Down Unit is a 22 bed telemetry unit which cares for cardiac, medical, surgical and neurological patients. The SDU will care for patients with CHF, pneumonia, diabetes, post CVA, patients requiring neurological care, and postoperative care for cardiac catheterization, carotid endarterectomies, post MI’s, post pace maker and defibrillator placements, sepsis and medical/surgical patients.
