The Med Surg 5th Floor provides nursing care for adult medical/surgical/telemetry patients. Cares for patients pre and post cardiac catheterizations, surgical patients, percutaneous transluminal coronary (PTCA) and vascular intervention, respiratory problems, and renal patients. It also cares for patients who have new tracheostomies placed during hospitalizations. Care of high acuity critically ill patients includes high complexity interventions serving patients of the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), Oncology, and Surgical services. Certifications, Licenses and Registrations Licensed in the state of practice as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is required. Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (WDSPS) or Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Board certification from the National Certification Corporation is preferred. Controlled Substance license in state of practice is preferred. Federal DEA license is preferred. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is preferred.
