The Intensive Care RN (ICU RN) will be responsible for providing intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The ICU RN will have advanced skills in critical care settings, make quick decisions, and will be compassionate to all patients. An ICU RN monitors vital signs, blood oxygen levels, administer IV Fluids, and communicates effectively to the medical team to modify care plans accordingly. Responsibilities ** If you have experience in the ICU, Emergency Room (ER), Emergency Department (ED) or other critical care area of the hospital you are encouraged to apply! ** Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.7. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.8. Pre-Anesthesia Assessment Nurse Surgical Services

Job Description Saint Luke's has an opportunity for a Pre-Anesthesia Assessment Nurse. This position contacts patients to obtain medical and surgical history for anesthesia review on all scheduled surgical cases. Provides patient education for each surgical procedure. Determines if pre-operative testing is indicated and arranges for testing to be completed prior to surgery. Serves as change agent for improvements in pre-assessment practices and processes. Serves as a resource to health care providers throughout the perioperative phases of surgery and to applicable nursing. Assumes mentor and preceptor responsibilities as needed. Hours for this position will be 0730-1800. At least three shifts per week this RN will work in the Pre-Anesthesia Assessment center with the possibility of working the other shift in PreOp or PACU with the possibility of moving to exclusively working in the Pre-Anesthesia Assessment center as their workload grows due to OR expansion. This RN will need current BLS and ACLS and may be required to take evening and/or weekend call for PACU.
