Part Time: 40 Hours Bi-Weekly Variable Days Onsite Summary: The Medical Assistant role provides clinical and administrative support for patients under the direction of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse. Kendal at Oberlin's Nursing Department is currently seeking dynamic, compassionate Care Partners (STNAs ) for full time, 36 hrs/wk: 7:00am-7:30pm. The Care Partner provides our residents high quality, person-centered care by providing physical and psycho-social support as a member of the interdisciplinary team working closely with residents, families and staff. The Care Partner assists in providing an engaging therapeutic living environment for those individuals with cognitive impairment. Additionally, the role will be responsible for including, but not limited to: Recognizing and respecting residents' abilities and promote their individuality while maintaining the standards of The Kendal Corporation's philosophy of care. Supporting residents in doing as much for themselves as possible. Providing confident, efficient and complete care as outlined in individual care plans of each resident. Providing support with a friendly and caring approach to residents, friends, families, and staff. Qualifications and Experience: Successful completion of an approved nursing assistant program and state of Ohio exam. Must have an STNA license in good standing. Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, transfer residents weighing 50 to 250 pounds. Must be capable of clearly communicating with residents. Must be able to reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Euclid Hospital’s 8th floor Med/Surg and Telemetry Unit is a 31-bed unit that specializes in advanced telemetry. This unit has an average daily census of 25 and is comprised of 7 private rooms, 10 semi-private rooms and a 4-bed observation room for patients who may be confused, at risk for falls or in need of visual monitoring. Known for their exceptional assessment skills and team mentality, caregivers in this unit provide the best patient-centered and relationship-based care to their adult to geriatric patients with ranging medical-surgical diagnoses. As a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA), your primary duties will include providing or assisting with basic patient care under the supervision of an RN, reporting abnormal findings and changes in patients’ condition and keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly. This is an excellent opportunity to receive hands-on experience while providing exceptional care to our patients, ensuring the best health outcomes. A caregiver in this position PRN (as needed) variable shifts. You must work 48 hours within a six-week period with one summer and one winter holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter. Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN. Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire period. Nursing students must have prior to hire. Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience. Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered Competencies in both the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains must be demonstrated in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at minimum junior high level Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Physical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
