What does the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) do? Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide for assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs. Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities: Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material. Prepares and administers therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician. Administers all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique. Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable. Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) will have the following background and experience: Education/Training Level I Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements. Entry level - 0-3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred (Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, Oncology Inusion experience preferred) Oncology Certification and Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Infusion Certification preferred. As the Hospice Nurse Practitioner, you will provide consultation in palliative care, symptom management and supportive care to meet the needs of the Hospice patient as requested by the referring physician. Primary Responsibilities: Makes face-to-face encounter visits within prescribed time limits to qualifying Hospice patients and reports clinical findings to the Hospice Medical Director Consults with the Hospice Medical Director as needed, informs primary physician of recommended services, and collaborates with other physicians as needed Initiates and coordinates the plan of care. Documents problems, appropriate goals, interventions, and patient/family response to hospice care. Collaborates with the patient/family, attending physician and other members of the IDG in providing patient and family care Instructs and supervises the patient/family in self-care techniques when appropriate Maintains accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding the patient's condition. Reports patient condition and any identified needs/issues to Administrator and Hospice Medical Director You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Active unrestricted license in the state of residence Current certification as a clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice Current certification by a national body such as ANCC, NBCHPN, or AANP 5+ years of nursing experience Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle Preferred Qualifications: Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire Experience working with an interdisciplinary team Clinical nursing care in oncology, hospice, geriatrics, or intensive care Palliative Care ARNP Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $48.42 - $72.64 per hour. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.
