JOB DESCRIPTION: The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (TS-C) is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the sterile field. The Technologist accurately and efficiently anticipates surgeon’s needs intraoperatively by applying comprehensive knowledge of operative procedures, Equipment, anatomy and surgeons’ preferences. The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (TS-C) works closely with all perioperative team members during the preoperative, intraoperative, and post-operative care of the surgical patient. The Certified Surgical Technologist will also be required to precept. In addition to the primary job description above, there will be additional job accountabilities. Our average length of stay is 13 days, but our range is 5 to 90 days. We administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapies, as well as manage illness and treatment related symptoms. As a member of our team, you will provide patient/family education and exceptional support during each patient’s unique cancer journey. Our dedicated Hematology & Oncology Nurses understand that patient and family involvement are essential components of holistic care. We work as an interdisciplinary team with Physicians, LNAs, Oncology Pharmacists, Social Workers, Case Managers, Palliative Care Specialists, Clinical Dietitians, PTs & RTs to provide our patients with the best care possible.
