Pay Range: $55.62 - $78.61 Position Overview Responsibilities Evaluates need for and ordering laboratory and diagnostic tests. Reviews and accurately records laboratory results in prenatal record. Reviews and interprets laboratory results with client. Refers abnormal results to case manager for follow-up. Assesses need for referral to other healthcare providers. Educates patients and their families and encourages participation in healthcare related decisions. Participates in constant labor and delivery coverage for caseload. Exercises discretion and judgment when evaluating and determining disposition of clients in triage area appropriately. Collaborates, consults, and refers with physicians in accordance with practice guidelines and nurse-midwifery regulations. Acts as stand-by for unattended private deliveries when physician is unavailable. Acts as Cesarean section first assist for clients and private physicians as needed. Completes post-partum rounds and discharges in a timely fashion. Completes billing slip at time of discharge. Participates in multi-disciplinary conference. Attends at least 50% of Obstetrics Department meetings annually. Maintains contact with professional organizations. Participates in performance improvement activities. Participates in continuing education activities and obtains CEUs necessary to maintain state licensure and prescriptive authority. Supervises Nurse-Mid-wifery students and family practice residents during their clinical rotation at CH. Adapts to changing demands of workplace and assumes a leadership role in supporting co-workers adaptation to change. Minimum Requirements Certified Nurse Midwife Graduate of an accredited midwifery program with Certificate of nurse-midwifery. Successful completion of integration experience in an accredited midwifery program.
