Utilizes delegation and critical thinking skills to provide high-quality service through a team-oriented, collaborative approach to patient care. Working in a transport environment around rotor-wing aircraft, ambulances, fire engines, machines with continuous moving parts that can be extremely dangerous without proper precautions. The aircraft is restricted by weight and balance and therefore, all staff are expected to maintain < or = 240 pounds mission weight (which is < or = 225 pounds without flight gear). The RN Transport Specialist Maintains mission readiness at all times. Ensures safety for self, vehicle, patient, transport team, and community during all phases of transport. Provides clear, concise, and accurate electronic documentation of patient transports in accordance with CCPT policy. Performs comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments appropriate for critically ill patients during transport. Assist in checking medication regardless of packaging system. Assess the residents to determine need for “as needed medication” and appropriately document and report to supervisor. Count all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager (MCM) or Lead Care Manager (LCM) each shift and report discrepancies. Maintain and clean the Medication Room, medication carts, and treatment carts for neatness, cleanliness, availability of medications, and expired medications. Follow re-fill process for medications and notify RCD or Wellness Nurse if a new prescription is needed. Help residents maintain independence and promote dignity and physical safety of each resident adhering to the Sunrise Principles of Service.
