Work very closely with the Director of Nurses and collect data for NHSN infection control reporting. Provide in-services monthly Monitors the facility infection rates for both staff and residents Ensure compliance with the Infection Control Surveillance program, ensures that Enhanced Barrier Precautions etc. are implemented timely and ensure staff adherence in accordance with CMS regulations. Perform PPD testing, regulator fitting, flu shots, and hepatitis vaccination for staff. Work with the supervisors of the departments to resolve issues that cause the spread of microorganisms. Performs Infection Control Rounds daily Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control policies and procedures. Conduct regular audits and surveillance of infection control practices. Analyze infection data and trends, providing recommendations for improvement. Reports trends to QAPI. Educate staff on infection prevention practices, including hand hygiene, PPE usage, and isolation protocols. Special Requirements : Must be able to work overtime and on an “on-call” basis.
