Description Job Title - Program Director (Licensed Nurse Practitioner) Solid Tumor Research Nursing - Mount Sinai Hospital - Full Time - Day The Program Director for Solid Tumor Research Nursing is a credentialed individual responsible for daily operations of all solid tumor research nursing teams and related clinical services for the Tisch Cancer Center of the Mount Sinai Health System. This person must have expert knowledge of cancer as a disease process, cancer treatment modalities, and the process of conducting clinical research. She/he is responsible for clinical operations and integrity, compliance, and knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and institutional policies and procedures. She/he is also expected to function as a research NP in her/his designated disease area. This position administratively reports to the Senior Director for Cancer Clinical Research and clinically reports to the Associate Director of Clinical Research Operations. Responsibilities Oversees day-to-day management of the solid tumor clinical research nursing teams. Ensures integration of other areas as they relate to clinical services, including but not limited to Finance, Legal Affairs, Contracts, Compliance, IT, Facilities, and Human Resources/Labor Relations, etc. Supervises licensed staff to ensure protocol compliance, accurate data collection, sample acquisition, and all nursing related study conduct. Overview Provides high quality comprehensive nursing care to meet the needs of the patient/client and manages/coordinates the delivery of cost effective multidisciplinary health care services for a caseload of patients/clients consistent with VNS Health philosophy, policy, goals and objectives, and Standards of Nursing Practice. Works under moderate supervision. For Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) only: Provides health education, social support and community linkages to meet the needs of pregnant and postpartum, first-time mothers and their infants. Also responsible for adhering to NFP national guidelines. • Assesses the physical, social and psychological needs and environmental conditions of the patient/client through professional knowledge, skills of observation, interviewing, and physical examination to develop a plan of care. • Understands, interprets, and implements reimbursement protocols; determines the billing source for patient/client care. Consults with management on complex/unique reimbursement cases. • Acts as the coordinator of care for the multidisciplinary team by providing and managing the care needs of patients/clients which includes making/confirming referrals to other disciplines/community agencies and ordering supplies/services and ensuring they are delivered as needed. • Documents content and process of all services provided in accordance with government regulations/requirements, and VNS Health policies, practices, and procedures, as well as NFP requirements as appropriate. Responsibilities What you will do as a Med Tech (RMA) Assist with daily administration of medication to residents Maintain resident medication programs and documentation, including medication distribution, ordering and reception, file management, and storage.
