Demonstrates ability to deescalate resident through verbal strategies, redirections and crisis management and report to nurse immediately. 17. Assist with meal pass and feeding in a timely manner. 18. Follows Fall Prevention Protocol. 19. Collects lab specimens. 20. Reports condition changes/behavioral issues to nurse immediately. 21. Follows elopement risk protocol. 22. Maintains cleanliness and organization of resident/guest rooms including bed making. 23. Accompanies resident/guests during outside medical consultations and out of building activities. 24. Follows safe-handling procedures for personal safety and resident safety at all times. 25. Provides medication, diet and other instructions as ordered by the physician and recognizes and utilizes opportunities for health counseling with patients and families/caregivers. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 2. Registered Nurse, with a License in good standing to practice. 3. Registered nurses shall have a minimum of (a) one (1) year of experience as a professional nurse within the last three (3) years; OR have a baccalaureate degree in nursing and minimum of two (2) years’ experience, at least one of which is in the area of public health, home care, or hospice nursing is preferred. 4. A Brief Overview The Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) provides intermediate level care to patients with congenital and acquired heart disease as well as those with primary rhythm abnormalities. This is a part-time, rotating shift position. The nurse at this level demonstrates competence in caring for patients and families and progresses to caring for those with the most complex problems/highest acuity in the designated clinical area.
