Samaritan Clinic patient care includes a myriad of services from Family Medicine, Urgent Care, to specialty areas such as Behavioral Health, Adult Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Outpatient Cardiology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, Urology, and growing! We are seeking a candidate with a positive attitude, great customer service skills, the ability to demonstrate compassion, and anticipate future patient needs. This position will support our growing clinic team serving both our Pioneer and Patton clinic location. Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant, Certified preferred. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday from 7:15am-5:30pm. EXTRA INCENTIVE: Up to $7,500 sign on bonus, subject to two-year Hospital Sign on Advance Agreement. ( External candidates only. ) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reviews schedules, organizes patient flow, and escorts patients to exam room assisting patients as needed with walking transfers, preparing for exam; take and record height, weight, vitals, temperature, head circumference (when applicable). Prepares for exam: collecting patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines. Fulfills clinical medical assisting responsibilities within scope of practice that may include medical/surgical asepsis, sterilization/disinfection, instrument wrapping and autoclaving; physical examination preparations; medication administration through various routes including injections; prescription verifications with physician’s orders; minor surgery assists including surgical tray set-up pre/post-surgical care, applying dressings, biohazard waste disposal and monitoring; therapeutic modalities; instructing patients with assistive devices, body mechanics, and home care; laboratory procedures including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines; quality control methods; CLIA-waived testing; and specimen handling. Conducts and administers pregnancy tests, occult blood tests, hematocrits, blood draws, peak flows, glucose monitoring, PPDs, injections, immunizations, Snellen tests, EKGs, Ishihara’s color test, rapid strep tests, tympanograms, and dipstick urine samples. Assists with suture removal, wound packing, simple dressings, nebulizer treatments and catheterization. Assists provider with procedures including pelvic exams, pap smears, office surgeries and throat cultures. Notifies patients of specialist appointment, make appropriate insurance referrals. Notifies patients of test results per provider direction. Calls in prescription refills as requested by provider. Performs clerical responsibilities that support the overall operations of the Clinic as assigned. Listens to patient questions and concerns and advises where permissible and/or obtains information from the provider. Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with Samaritan’s HIPAA Policy. Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned that may include setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms. Utilizes necessary equipment with appropriate safety measures, with required training and check off prior to use. Reports problems or concerns with equipment to the Clinic Care Director or Supervisor. Understands and demonstrates appropriate infection control practices in accordance with the Organization’s policy. Demonstrates ethical conduct and practices. May be exposed to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency or crisis situations to include performing emergency patient care. Responds appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisor. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to: security and safety, understanding of chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDS), equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics. Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures, as well as labor agreements. Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organization's values. Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization. Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards. WORK ENVIRONMENT The professional in this position reports to the Director of Operations with clinical oversight by the Clinic Care Director. The person in this position will work closely with other Samaritan professionals within various departments to include, but not limited to the Physician Offices, Lab, Pharmacy, Radiology, etc. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. License: Active Washington state Medical Assistant – Certified license. Experience : Experience working in a clinic setting providing support to providers in medical specialties preferred. Skills/Competencies: Demonstrates competency on skills and use of equipment listed on department specific checklist. Critical thinking skills: Seeks resources for direction, when necessary. Performs independent problem solving. Decision-making is logical and deliberate. Performs actions that demonstrate accountability. Exercises safe judgment in decision-making. Practices within legal and ethical guidelines. Demonstrates competency in ability to care for customers/patients across the age continuum. Current (Healthcare Provider [HCP] level) CPR certification. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent prolonged standing/walking. Occasional lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Occasional heavy lifting (lift/carry up to 50 lbs.). Maneuver and/or transfer patients. Manual dexterity and mobility. Ability to read and understand patient charts, provider orders, tests results, etc. Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients and/or family, and the public. The Infusion for Health Nurse Practitioner Manager will play a crucial role in providing clinical leadership, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring high-quality patient care within multiple ambulatory infusion centers. This leadership position will be responsible for managing a diverse team, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Medical Assistants, and Mixologists, in delivering high-quality specialty infusions and injections to patients. This role is responsible for clinical oversite, recruiting & managing staff members, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and optimizing workflows. This role requires a combination of clinical expertise, leadership experience, and strong organizational skills to support the success of the teams managed. In this role you will be covering our clinics in both Northern California, with consistent travel throughout all clinics. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Leadership: Engages in remote and in-person supervision in collaboration with the Medical Director, including virtual case discussions, care-plan development, escalated patient issues & reactions, review of infusion protocols, and documentation audits. Ensure that clinical protocols are being followed, and patient safety is prioritized. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring individualized, evidenced-based care. Review and sign off on treatment notes and patient documentation for accuracy and compliance. Occasionally provide direct patient care when required to ensure patient care needs are met or to demonstrate clinical skills for staff. Team Leadership & Development: Manage a team of healthcare professionals, including RNs, LVNs, MAs, and mixologists, across multiple clinic locations. Lead in the interviewing and hiring process of new team employees. Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and 1:1s to ensure the team is supported, collaborating effectively, and meeting individual & organizational expectations. Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of multiple ambulatory infusion clinics, ensuring efficient workflows and patient care delivery. Monitor clinic schedules, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize safety, productivity and patient experience. Maintain compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Track and analyze clinic performance data, ensuring that key metrics (e.g., patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, operational efficiency) are consistently met. Develop and implement strategies to improve clinic performance and patient care delivery. Perform audits of inventory management and supplies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory standards, polices, and procedures. Assist with the implementation of quality improvement initiatives. Lead the preparation efforts and assist in day of activities or regulatory audits and accreditation site surveys. Conduct on-site visits to each of the clinics at least once a month to observe workflows, meet with team members one on one, and provide on-the-ground support. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team. Keen assessment and monitoring skills; ability to identify medication reactions quickly. Skilled at performing intravenous catheter placement and monitoring for signs and symptoms of infusion related complications. Competent in the care, use, and maintenance of central lines. Able to demonstrate infection control precautions and sterile technique. Possess knowledge of IV medications, biologics, fluids, and blood components. Skilled in drawing labs using aseptic technique. Ability to engage effectively in partnership with referring providers, deescalate challenging patient situations, and respond to grievances assuring the highest level of service to our partners and patients. Strong computer skills, including word processing, efficient use of the internet and email, and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR). EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) from an accredited program. Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state(s) of practice. Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in infusion therapy or related specialty. 2 years in healthcare leadership or management role preferred. Proven experience working with, influencing, and managing individuals with different licenses and scope of practice.
