Overview Department: ICU Schedule: Part time days|2-12 hour Facility: St. Francis Hospital Location: 355 Ridge Ave Evanston, Illinois 60202 Responsibilities The Clinical Nursing Supervisor supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions and works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager. Assists customers with packing personal possessions when they are transferred to a new room or when being discharged. Participates in and receives the nursing report upon reporting for duty. Maintains intake and output records as instructed. Checks and reports bowel movements and character of stools. Makes occupied and unoccupied beds, changes bed linens, and straightens rooms, closet, and drawers. Notifies housekeeping if mattress in need of cleaning or replacement. Answers call lights promptly, answer telephone calls as needed and run errands as requested. Obtains blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, heights, and weights as needed. Does complete check of skin condition when dressing, undressing, turning/repositioning, etc. Reports any skin abnormalities to the Staff Nurse. Observes customer’s physical condition, attitude, reactions, appetite, etc., and reports any changes and/or unusual findings to the Nurse/RCC so care plan can be updated. Performs personal services for customer’s (i.e., reading, writing letters, etc.) as time allows. Encourages customers to help themselves and promotes self-care in aiding rehabilitation. Assists with care of dying and expired customers. Records resident food/fluid intake. Completes meal monitor form as indicated. Reports changes in resident’s eating habits to the Staff Nurse. Keeps customers water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water on each shift unless contraindicated. Serves between meals and bedtime snacks. Wears transfer belt at all times and utilizes as needed. Keeps the nurses’ call system within easy reach of the resident. Reports all hazardous equipment and conditions to the Staff Nurse immediately. Primary Responsibilities Makes the initial nursing evaluation in determining eligibility for hospice services during visit within forty-eight (48) hours of referral Identifies the patient's/family's physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs and re-assesses as needed, no less than every fifteen (15) days Initiates and coordinates the plan of care Documents problems, appropriate goals, interventions, and patient/family response to hospice care Collaborates with the patient/family, attending physician and other members of the IDG in providing patient and family care daily Instructs and supervises the patient/family in self-care techniques when appropriate Maintains accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding the patient's condition Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications Current and unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice Current driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of clinical experience Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
