Shifts Available: Fulltime/part-time/per-diem: Responsibilities: · Assists with the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients. · Participates with other team members in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care and other patient activities, including diagnostic procedures and treatments. · Administers and records medications and treatments as assigned, including IV therapy. · Prepares for and assists RNs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals with diagnostic procedures and treatments. · Reinforces, supports, and provides healthcare instructions to patients and their families. · Communicates observations and reports patients’ vital signs to physicians, NPs, and other healthcare supervisory professionals. · Records observations of patients’ responses to care provided in patient charts. · Maintains environmental conditions conducive to patients’ comfort and safety. · Assists with unit management and/or assumes charge of the unit as assigned. · Performs other nursing functions related to patient care and nursing services, as delegated by Nursing Service Administration. · Guides and directs other technicians and nurses’ aides in providing patient care. · Maintains clinical competence through participation in and attendance at continuing education programs. · Assists patients with activities of daily living. Requirements: · Completion of an accredited educational program and current New York State (NYS) licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). · Current BLS/CPR certification. · Prior experience in a long-term skilled nursing facility is preferred.
