He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Position Responsibilities: • Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during any surgical procedure and provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary. • Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures. • Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures. Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required: One year OR Training or Experience. Required Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program. Training/Certifications/Licensure: BLS. Surgical Technologist Certification preferred Maintenance of New Jersey State required 15 CEs per year.
