PM ADON/Supervisor In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Guests we serve, the Nurse Supervisor R.N. plays a critical role in providing superior customer service and nursing services to all Guests on the assigned unit as well as in the facility as a whole. The Nurse Supervisor assists the Assistant Director of Nursing and the Director of Nursing (D.O.N) in the planning, development and overall operation of the assigned unit, which ensures Guests receive quality care 24 hours a day. Assure that established infection control and prevention practices and standard precautions are maintained at all times. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies. Facilitate Nurse to Nurse admission and discharge reports to/from hospitals and other institutions. Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, accidents/incidents and supply issues to the appropriate persons. Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Guests and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment. Ensure each Guest receives person centered care. Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Guest care areas. Assist with new admissions, re-admissions and assist with the transfer of Guests to different rooms within the assigned unit. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services. Supervisory Responsibility This position directly supervises all Nursing staff on the assigned unit including but not limited to R.N’s, L.P.N’s and C.N.A’s. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping on a regular basis. The employee must be able to lift and move items and patients weighing at least 50 pounds.
