Candidates are required to have two (2) recent years of pediatric inpatient ICU experience (NICU/PICU/CICU). Shift and schedule details directly below. The Clinical Nurse Float Pool I is a clinically competent practitioner of pediatric, family-centered nursing. The nurse, at this level, provides safe nursing care to the general unit population ICU, Medical, Surgical, and at least 1 specialty area as defined in Supplemental Staffing Nursing Policy, with minimal guidance and bases practice on identified principles and standards of care. This is a salaried position and this ANM may need to flex to evenings and nights to support staff. A Brief Overview This RN position is Full Time- 36 hours a week. It requires 12 months of previous RN work experience. It is Day/Night rotating, 12 hour shifts, every third weekend. This Surgical Unit is 1 of 2 inpatient surgical units at CHOP. 4 East is a 22-bed unit comprised of seven different surgical services. The multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive care to a variety of medically complex children with ages ranging from infant to adolescent. Common diagnoses/surgical procedures include appendectomies, posterior spinal fusions, hernia repairs, and complex urologic procedures. Our nurses are trained to care for our trauma population, as well as patients requiring chest tubes, wound vacs, tracheostomies, and central venous catheters. The Infant Transitional Care Unit population accounts for 10 of the 22 beds. This population consists of post-surgical infants that have recently transferred out of the NICU. The Clinical Nurse practices at the level of an advanced beginner to expert practitioner of professional nursing in accordance with, and guided by the CHOP Nursing Professional Practice Model.
