A Brief Overview The Lactation Consultant is responsible for providing lactation management services to expectant and new parents. These functions are performed in accordance with the hospital’s philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards. What You Will Do Plans, teaches and evaluates classes for expectant and new breastfeeding mothers. Creates a milieu that promotes learning for staff and patients. Overview Manages, coordinates, facilitates and supports the members of the interdisciplinary team in provision of hospice care to patient/families of VNS Health Hospice Care Program, including After Hours. Ensures the implementation of clinical/quality improvement initiatives for hospice services in compliance with regulatory requirements. Demonstrates knowledge and commitment to excellence in clinical practice and customer service. Works under general direction. *This role includes a $15K sign-on bonus, payable in two installments during your first year of employment with VNS Health. • Ensures the use of an interdisciplinary approach to assess the medical, physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Assists with orientating newly employed nurses and clinical placement of nursing students. Arranges hospital transfer of residents. May render nursing care, administer medication and perform treatments. Assists in planning, developing, organizing and implementing departmental goals and objectives. Ensure appropriate staffing levels are met for each unit by coordinating with Staffing Coordinator Exhibits creativity and initiative in pursuing organizational and departmental growth and development. Qualifications Current New York State RN license in good standing. Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care, or Rehabilitation setting. Prior ADON, Nurse Manager, Unit Manager, Infection Preventionist, or nursing leadership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices and regulatory requirements. Infection prevention certification or specialized training is a plus. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to educate, motivate, and lead clinical staff. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality resident care.
