Verifies electronic submission of MDS and performs corrections when necessary and maintains appropriate records. · Coordinates interdisciplinary participation in completing the MDS for each resident according to regulatory time frames. Ensures completeness of MDS and thoroughness of documentation as mandated by federal and state standards. · Schedules resident care conferences in compliance with state and federal regulations and ensures completion of all MDS reviews prior to resident care conference. · Assists disciplines with care planning process by ensuring the MDS information is completed timely, the Care Area Assessments (CAAs) are analyzed thoroughly, and the team has completed the MDS prior to care conference. · Ensures all Medicare documentation follows federal and state guidelines and is completed timely. A Brief Overview This is for the Philadelphia Campus PACU. Full time, Rotating schedule, with two to three years pediatric experience or area of pre and post-operative experience preferred. The Peri-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) encompasses 46 private rooms, which include a procedure room and dental room. The PACU provides preoperative and postoperative care to all types of surgical patients and to those patients receiving general anesthesia in other departments in CHOP and at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. These services are provided 24/7 through in-house coverage or an on-call system. The Clinical Nurse practices at the level of an advanced beginner to expert practitioner of professional nursing in accordance with, and guided by the CHOP Nursing Professional Practice Model. The nurse at this level demonstrates competence in caring for patients and families and progresses to caring for those with the most complex problems/highest acuity in the designated clinical area. Provides age/developmentally appropriate care. Care is delivered through RN leadership for patient care within the framework of family-centered care. Laurel and Willingboro locations are only outpatient units, whereas the Special Test Unit (STU) , located on the sixth floor in the main hospital is an outpatient and inpatient unit. All are run by the hospital largely to serve diagnostic and therapeutic needs of the Gastroenterology Division. The most common gastroenterology procedures are upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. In the pulmonary suite (STU only), endoscopy of the airway procedures is performed, and are commonly called bronchoscopy. All units are staffed by surgical schedulers, patient service representatives, nurses, and GI technicians. Anesthesiology is present for all GI procedures. Nurses rotate between the admission (Pre op), procedure suites, recovery (PACU) and pre-admission testing. They must be familiar with all roles and procedures in the GI Unit.
