Responsibilities may include: Giving the shift report to the incoming staff Provide clinical/supervisory oversight to the unit during a shift Delegate assignments to the team assigned to the shift Audit/assure completion of admission or discharge during shift with the RN’s cos-signature Attend rounds (wound, physician, etc) If acting in the capacity of charge nurse, may develop patient care assignments (appointing other staff, RN, LPN or PCA to implement an established care plan for a designated period of work time), create schedules, and contribute to performance evaluations and educate other staff on HSL policy and procedure. The above covers the most significant responsibilities of the position. It does not, however, exclude other duties, which would be in conformity with the level of the position. Qualifications A graduate of an approved school of nursing is required Current Massachusetts license as an RN/ LPN in good standing Previous experience preferred Understand the philosophy and support the model of care at HRC required Must be a professional, proactive, collaborative, conscientious, and results-oriented individual.
