Main Function The Assistant Nurse Manager provides administrative duties and direct patient care as needed based on patient acuity and staffing needs. The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily unit operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining a well-coordinated team environment. The Assistant Nurse Manager assists with staffing, scheduling, and resource management, helping to align unit resources with patient needs. The Assistant Nurse Manager provides direct support to nursing staff, offers mentorship and guidance, and steps in to resolve issues as they arise. The Assistant Nurse Manager works closely with the Nurse Manager to implement policies/procedures, regulations, quality initiatives, monitor compliance, and identify areas for improvement, contributing to an efficient and safe healthcare environment. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager is accountable for patient care activities, department operations, and staff function. In conjunction with centralized and decentralized educators, the Assistant Nurse Manager assists with the coordination of orientation and teaching of new employees and ongoing in-service programs as needed. Reports to Nurse Manager. Duties And Responsibilities Standards of Care Standard I. Assessment Assist in gathering and analyzing data on patient needs, staffing levels, and resource availability within the unit. Monitor daily patient and staff activities to assess workflow. Standard II. Diagnosis Identify specific challenges in patient care and staff performance, supporting the nurse manager in recognizing potential issues impacting patient safety, quality of care, and unit effectiveness. Standard III. Planning Collaborate with the nurse manager to develop and coordinate unit plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and setting goals. Help outlines steps for implementing unit procedures and patient care standards. Standard IV. Implementation Support the Nurse Manager in executing care plans, including coordinating with team members, enforcing policies and procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Provide direct support to staff and step in as needed for patient care. Standard V. Evaluation Participate in evaluating patient outcomes, staff performance, and unit efficiency. Provide feedback to the nurse manager and suggest improvements based on observed results. Standards of Professional Performance Standard I. POSITION SUMMARY: The Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is responsible for overall care of assigned residents and supervision of direct care staff in the community. 0600-1800 or 1800-0600. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current, valid RN license. Experience in long-term healthcare preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed, both verbal and written documentation. POSITION DUTIES: Help implement and evaluate care plans for individual care of each resident as a RN. Maintains appropriate nursing service objectives, goals, and standards of nursing practices. Receive, transcribe, and implement physician’s orders in a timely manner as a RN. Reports required condition changes, events to appropriate parties. Administers medication/treatments as prescribed. Monitors infection control compliance. Investigates/documents accidents/incidents.

The Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing at Rockville Center is a facility with 158 beds and is proud of its state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Gym servicing 60 + short-term beds. The Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing at Rockville Center's Professional team consists of 30+ professionals spanning 20 years of experience with backgrounds in acute, sub-acute, long term and outpatient settings and would provide an excellent setting for learning and growth. The Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing at Rockville Center provides Rehabilitation services seven days a week. Responsibilities Include: Responsible to the Director of Nursing for the coordination and quality of care and services to residents in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards and regulations. Initiate admissions assessments on new Residents/hospital returns. Review PRI's & coordinate components of the admission process with the interdisciplinary team She/He is a member of the Nursing Management team. Qualifications/Requirements: Experience in Acute Care/ Long Term Care Nursing Clinically knowledgeable and capable of making appropriate care and service decisions. Leadership qualities and administrative competency or demonstrates the potential for this. Reliable for attendance and punctuality. Strong organizational and communications skills with all levels of staff and disciplines within the organization Flexibility for schedule and duties within the department and adaptable to changing situations.
