A Fred Hutch Cancer Center ARNP/PA-C is a certified physician assistant or advanced registered nurse practitioner who provides evaluation and medical management of multiple service lines of adult oncology patients at our community site at Northwest Hospital. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month services periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The incumbent will follow patients during their therapy and provide medical supportive care, as well as surveillance after completion of treatment. They will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care of their patients. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician. Responsibilities Provide medical care, coordination of care, and follow-up for clinic patients in a collaborative, and/or independent fashion, while maintaining effective communication with their team Autonomously manage toxicity of treatment and/or underlying disease with physician consultation as needed Effectively communicate with Attending Physician, Nursing, Pharmacy, and other team members. Address EPIC inbox results, questions, refills, etc. in a timely manner Participates in the conduct of cancer clinical research, including patient, caregiver, and peer education Follow plan of care as outlined by the attending physician – i.e., ensure staging studies (imaging, labs, etc.) are ordered at the appropriate interval; ensure appropriate physician and/or APP follow up is arranged at agreed upon intervals. To be considered for the role, please apply at the following link: Position Details - Academic Personnel & Faculty Description The Department of Radiation Oncology has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Teaching Associate- Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA-C). The successful candidate’s primary site of practice will be UWMC-Northwest Gamma Knife Center, but may be asked to shift work to other UW/FHCC Radiation Oncology sites of practice if the clinical need arises. The selected candidate will be proposed for appointment to the full-time faculty as a Teaching Associate at the University of Washington with an anticipated start date of July 2026 or earlier. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The Radiation Oncology APP is a certified advanced practice provider whose integrated role encompasses both clinical care and education. The ARNP/PA-C functions collaboratively with attending physicians and as a key member of the interdisciplinary oncology team. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced clinical judgment, a high degree of professional autonomy, and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver exemplary, evidence-based oncology care.
