Overview The official job title for this position at PPGT is “Clinician”. The Clinician provides comprehensive reproductive healthcare services to patients at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas (PPGT). Works as part of the Health Services team in collaboration with Health Services and other team members to meet the clinical needs of patients as outlined in affiliate protocols. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and consults with supervising physicians as needed. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other forms of treatment, including contraception. The Clinician is part of the medical services team providing sexual and reproductive healthcare as outlined in affiliate protocols. Provides services by telehealth and/or in-person visits including: history review, health education, physical exam, counseling, diagnosis, and treatment according to protocols. The Clinician works in partnership with management, Health Services and Chief Operating and Medical Services Officer (COMSO) to provide the highest quality of patient care and excellent patient experience. Job Summary The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be working in a position primarily responsible for caring for pediatric patients with hematologic, oncologic, immunologic, or other diagnosis requiring stem cell transplant. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, consultation, and health promotion and care coordination for patients and families throughout the hospital system. This position requires a high degree of critical thinking and flexibility. Scheduled Hours: variable 12° shifts including nights and weekends Required Experience and Education Master's degree in nursing or Higher degree and Documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program and Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. OR Master's degree graduate of a Master’s or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program. Job Duties Diagnoses and treats critically ill patients, develops and manages treatment plans, and performs advanced procedures. Develops and implements treatment plans for patients. Conducts and documents comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status. Synthesizes data and utilizes evidence to develop, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results. Demonstrates proficiency in technical/procedural skills, as appropriate based on specialty and training.
