Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Surgical Technologist/OB Tech, you will help our patients, nursing staff, and surgical teams facilitate safe and smooth surgical procedures and deliver exceptional patient care, so they can experience positive birth outcomes and recover comfortably. Every day you will provide direct and indirect patient care, including setting up and assisting surgical teams during C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and circumcisions, maintaining sterile fields, and managing instrumentation. You will be expected to assist with patient needs, monitor vital signs, document observations, ensure patient comfort and safety, maintain surgical equipment and supply inventories, and collaborate seamlessly with RNs, physicians, and other team members, while also engaging in professional development and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. To be successful in this role, you must have knowledge of surgical instrumentation, asepsis, and medical terminology, along with the ability to anticipate patient needs, maintain sterile technique, effectively assist surgical teams, and demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care and the well-being of obstetrical patients. Responsibilities: Assist in the admission, discharge, and transfer process of patients Set up tables, instruments, and supplies required for cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, and circumcisions; maintaining sterile technique. Respond to patient calls, anticipate their needs, and assure their safety and comfort through regular rounds, environmental maintenance and other appropriate safety measures Maintain appropriate stock and equipment inventories in the department and patient rooms Assist in the preparation and draping of the patient and operative area. Prepare, pass, and maintain a correct count of instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies utilized during the operative procedure Maintain surgical instruments by ensuring proper washing, packaging, sterilization, and storage We are offering a $20,000 Sign On Bonus for those eligible.
