To qualify for Medical Assistant 2: Current Medical Assistant (MA) certification from the California Certified Medical Assistant Board (CCMA) or the National American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required or an approved certifying body required. Knowledge: Previous experience with injections, EKG’s, medication administration and/or taking vital signs required. Basic computer/data entry and electronic medical record (EMR) experience required. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree preferred. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of prior relevant medical office experience in a clerical role. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, EMR and scheduling systems) required. Strong verbal and social skills to facilitate working respectfully with patients, physicians, visitors, co-workers, and drug reps in person or by telephone required. Ability and willingness to travel to other physician offices as requested or needed. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: BLS certification required.
