Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a licensed provider, RN, or LPN. Responsible for performing routine and more complex medical assistant clinical duties to include, but not limited to, taking vital signs, administering a limited profile of medications per The Emory Clinic approved policy, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms in an outpatient care setting. Maintains a clean and healthy environment in compliance with Universal Precaution guidelines and safety standards. Orders, verifies, and stores unit supplies. All duties and patient interaction performed in accordance with Emory Healthcare patient and family centered care standards. May participate in research projects impacting patient care areas. Performs other related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required. Basic computer skills required. One year work experience preferred. Current AHA BLS certification is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment. Current certification as one of the following is required: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Overview The Strelitz Diabetes Center, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders Division, Department of Medicine is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), a nurse practitioner (NP) or a physician assistant (PA), who will function as a clinical provider. The APP will participate in all aspects of patient care and will participate in the supporting roles of consultant, and educator. The main role of the position will include outpatient care of patients as well as in-patient consulting and conducting hospital inpatient rounds. Primary focus will be on patients with diabetes mellitus but may also include other endocrine disorders. Responsibilities Provide medical care to patients in an office/ hospital setting. Collaborate with Nursing, office staff, administration in patient care. Collaborate with peers, and support staff. Participate in academic/clinical/research activates as needed. The Cardiac Stress Test RN provides professional nursing support and service for patients, functioning with a high degree of knowledge, skill and experience in cardiovascular care that is applied to achieve optimal outcomes through critical analysis, problem solving and decision making. The primary role of the Cardiac Stress Test RN is to supervise the administration of cardiac stress testing. Cardiac Stress test includes Exercise ECG Testing, Stress Echocardiography and Stress Radionuclide Cardiac Imaging To be successful in this role, the Cardiac Stress Test RN must: Competent performance of exercise testing requires significant cognitive knowledge and understanding of cardiac disease states. This includes knowledge of but not limited to: cardiovascular and exercise physiology, including hemodynamic response to exercise, appropriate indications, alternate physiological cardiovascular test, prompt recognition and response to complications. Overview The Department of Internal Medicine at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the team. Provides nursing care for patients and assisting physicians.
