Position Highlights: Position: Pre-Op/PACU RN Job Type: Full-Time Location: Community Hospital/Canyon View Surgery Center Responsibilities: Works with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout his/her surgical experience. Operates and troubleshoots specialized equipment and patient monitoring equipment. Performs Defibrillator and other critical equipment checks. Seeks educational opportunities and accepts responsibility for own professional growth and development. Participates with in-service opportunities and staff meetings. Attends continuing education offerings to remain current with all surgical specialties and ASC issues. Requirements: Associate’s Degree from an accredited school of nursing (Bachelor’s preferred) with at least one (1) year of surgical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Current BLS Current ACLS/PALS (Must be obtained with 6 months of hire) Current CNOR and AORN professional affiliation preferred. Demonstrates applied knowledge base in areas of medical/surgical patient care, pain assessment and actions of pharmaceuticals and anesthetic agents, laboratory values, safety and legal issues and all emergency equipment. Practices effective problem identification and resolution skills as a method of sound decision making. Performs documentation duties on the floor and in the patient record, which is timely, accurate and concise. Works as part of a team in delivering patient care. Maintains BLS and ACLS certification. One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required Medical / surgical nursing experience Current state licensure to practice within good standings. Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification. Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
