What you need to know about this position: Our Mental Health unit (housed on the Columbus Regional Health campus) is an 18-bed secure inpatient unit treating adults 18 and older who are experiencing acute mental illness. We provide an individualized program for the intensive treatment of mental disorders, which includes a plan of care specific to each patient's circumstance and goals of the treatment. A new Registered Nurse in this unit will have an hourly base rate starting at $33.34. An experienced Registered Nurse can expect an hourly base rate in the top 25% of nurses in the region. Compensation offered is highly competitive based on years of RN experience, job performance and the market. **Contact CRH HR (or 812-376-5627) to learn more about our compensation. RN positions are eligible for applicable shift differentials and Sunday/holiday premiums. In this position you would be scheduled to work 3 -8-hour evening shifts (24 hours/week, considered part-time) with start/end times of 3:00pm-11:30pm over the weekend, specifically Friday/Saturday/Sunday. The Weekend Option position offers a premium for hours worked between Friday at 3pm and Monday at 7:30am. *To be eligible for Weekend option position, at least 2 years of experience within department preferred but not required. What is required for this position : Upon hire, you must have: Associate of Nursing (ASN) or equivalent required; Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Care 1. Completes an initial, comprehensive and ongoing comprehensive assessment of patient and family to determine hospice needs. Provides a complete physical assessment and history of current and previous illness(es). 2. Provides professional nursing care by utilizing all elements of nursing process. 3. Assesses and evaluates patient’s status by: A. Writing and initiating plan of care B. Regularly re-evaluating patient and family/caregiver needs C. Participating in revising the plan of care as necessary 4. Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions as patient status and needs change. 5. Uses health assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis. 6. Develops a care plan that establishes goals, based on nursing diagnosis and incorporates palliative nursing actions. Includes the patient and the family in the planning process. 7. Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.
