Location: Main Hospital Bldg - 2nd Floor Work Schedule - Days Shift - 8 am to 5 pm (3 days a week) Position: Part Time WITH Benefits *must be able to work at least 24 hours per week* PRIMARY PURPOSE The RN is a licensed professional who uses the Parkland nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery, that focuses on a particular patient population(s)/specific health conditions, by the health care team. Performs patient teaching with documented care plans that are disease site oriented as related to phase of care across the continuum and for discharge planning. Collaborates with wound care stoma and ENT nurses for performing wound, colostomy and tracheotomy care as directed. Manages triage for patients/families/other internal and external health care professionals to optimally navigate the health care system. Seeks and utilizes direction from more experienced staff and team members as needed. May work with other staff in providing direction to non-nursing staff. Participates in information exchanges with nursing and other Parkland staff that support the standards, missions, goals, and objectives of Oncology Services and Parkland. LPN- Neuro- PRN

Find your calling at Mercy! Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Position Details: Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure. Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Certification(s): NOTE: One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: • ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. • LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in the state of practice. • Other unit-specific certifications as required. Physical Requirements: • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
