Safety & Compliance Adhere to medication administration and documentation policies, including narcotic accountability procedures. Follow all policies related to incident reporting, sentinel events, confidentiality, and patient rights. Comply with infection prevention and control guidelines. Maintain a safe patient environment through proper identification procedures, fall prevention measures, restraint management, and department-specific safety protocols. Follow hospital and departmental safety regulations, including emergency preparedness and environmental safety procedures. Perform equipment safety checks and maintain quality control standards when applicable. Protect patient and visitor property and uphold Mercy's standards for respectful care. Clinical Skills & Technology Demonstrate proficiency in the operation and maintenance of clinical equipment and procedures. Assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Perform technical skills relevant to the nursing practice area, including: Rapid Strep testing Urinalysis (UA) with dip I-Stat testing CBC via Coulter Urine Pregnancy Testing Urine Drug Screening (DOT and Non-DOT) Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Participate in the evaluation of new equipment, products, policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
