Job Summary The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be working in a position primarily responsible for caring for pediatric patients with hematologic, oncologic, immunologic, or other diagnosis requiring stem cell transplant. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, consultation, and health promotion and care coordination for patients and families throughout the hospital system. Job Duties Diagnoses and treats critically ill patients, develops and manages treatment plans, and performs advanced procedures. Develops and implements treatment plans for patients. Conducts and documents comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status. Synthesizes data and utilizes evidence to develop, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results. Demonstrates proficiency in technical/procedural skills, as appropriate based on specialty and training. Provides relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures. Facilitates/participates in quality related initiatives through planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings, to improve clinical and system practice performance. Description The Child Adolescent and Eating Disorder Psychiatry Inpatient Unit (5 Neurosciences) is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to join their department. The registered nurse/ license vocational nurse plans, organizes and directs hospice care services specific to each patient/family which includes instruction and evaluation in the home. Communicates with community health related persons to coordinate the care plan. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 1. Graduate of a National League of Nursing accredited school of nursing. 2. Current licensure in State of CA and CPR certification. 3. Registered nurses / Licensed Vocational nurse shall have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a professional nurse within the last three (3) years; OR have a baccalaureate degree in nursing from a program accredited by the National League of Nursing and a current RN / LVN license. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience, at least one of which is in the area of public health, home care, or pediatric hospice nursing is preferred.. 4. Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; nursing skills per competency checklist. 5. Prolonged or considerable walking or standing. Able to lift, position and/or transfer patients. Able to lift supplies and equipment. Considerable reaching, stooping bending, kneeling and/or crouching. 6.
