Summary Under the direction of the Division of Neonatology, the Neonatal Physician Assistant (NPA) & Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) provides medical management of neonatal patients with a variety of diagnoses in the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or other locations at CHKD or in contracted facilities where NICU and/or general nursery patients are cared for. Reports to department leadership. GENERAL SUMMARY The CHKD NNP / NPA - Internal Traveler Program provides short-term 13-week assignments for eligible candidates to fill staffing needs. NNP / NPAs will be eligible for up to 3 renewable 13-week assignments across the CHKDHS. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates excellence in practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient, family and staff education. Performs a complete history and physical on new admissions and daily examinations and documents findings in medical record. Generates problem lists and differential diagnoses based on clinical findings. Creates a comprehensive treatment plan including laboratory, diagnostic testing and medications as indicated.
