This support is provided through two specialized ICUs: our 43 bed Pediatric ICU (PICU) and 24 bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Our nursing staff can cross-train for both units. In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the CVICU Registered Nurse is responsible for rendering specialized professional nursing care to cardiothoracic surgery patients while directing and guiding patient teachings as well as activities of ancillary personnel. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary. Minimum Education/Experience Required: Current licensure in the State of Ohio or multi-state license from state of residence required. Minimum of two years of ICU experience required. Advanced CVICU experience preferred. BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ASLS and PALS preferred upon hire but will consider experience and require all certifications within one year of employment. Maintains compliance in RQI required. Job Description The Registered Nurse provides safe therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way, incorporating differences into the provision of care. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum to include patient and family education. Relies on education and training to complete responsibilities within scope of licensure as registered nurse. Responsibilities Clinical Practice and Care Management Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrates changing data Formulates a plan of care based on trends of similar patients, including patient education and discharge planning.
