Job Summary Under the direction of the Corporate Director of Cancer Center, the Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) is responsible for facilitating the patient experience for patients as well as family members from cancer diagnosis to survivorship. The ONN is a patient advocate, care coordinator, educator, and offers psychosocial support and connection to community resources. The ONN functions on the multidisciplinary team and builds relationships with the care team to ensure patients receive timely access to quality care and comprehensive services. The ONN serves as a clinical resource with expertise in hematology/oncology care management. Acts as ambassador and representative of the Oncology Program in community events and markets/promotes service line to increase business volume for the Hospital. Job Requirements Minimum Education Requirement : Bachelors of Science in Nursing required within 1 year of hire/transfer. Minimum Experience Requirement : 3 years nursing experience in an oncology setting, including medical or surgical oncology practice, infusion center, radiation oncology, or inpatient oncology unit. Previous experience in oncology nurse navigation preferred. Proven working relationship with physicians. Patient education experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. DEGREE OF TRAVEL: • Travel required for patient visits. • Occasional travel for educational purposes.
