Parkland Health Center has two locations in St. Francois County, Missouri – a full-service acute care hospital in Farmington as well as a rural emergency hospital in Bonne Terre. Parkland Health Center provides quality primary and secondary level inpatient and outpatient services to the people of St. Francois County and surrounding areas in southeastern Missouri. In addition, Parkland’s Farmington campus offers a full continuum of inpatient and medical-surgical and intensive care, obstetrics and emergency services, along with a wide variety of outpatient services including oncology services, an infusion center, a wound care clinic, and the Huckstep Heart and Lung Center. Bonne Terre is a Rural Emergency Hospital providing emergency services and outpatient services including medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep study. The Emergency Room provides support to triage, diagnose and treat patients presenting for emergency services in a timely, customer focused manner on a 24/7 basis, irregardless of ability to pay for the services. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
