Manages and role models the delivery of nursing care through the unit-based supervisory role, the hospital-wide supervisory role and management of the hospital as the on-site “person-in-charge”, in collaboration with the Executive-on-call. In that role, identifies and communicates clinical and administrative concerns to unit staff, other nurse managers, physicians, executive-on-call, and other departments and, in emergency situations, initiates NH Hospital Emergency Preparedness Plan and Patient Care Services Continuity of Operations Plans. Manages the maintenance of a therapeutic and caring environment, 24 hours a day, seven days a week by demonstrating and monitoring staff’s adherence to the policies and standards of New Hampshire Hospital and the New Hampshire Hospital Department of Nursing.
