Job Description Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures and equipment encountered in the Endoscopy unit including Gastroenterology, and Pulmonary. Exhibits knowledge of and consistently maintains SGNA standards of practice. Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions- actively including the patient and family members in teaching. Demonstrates flexibility and responsibility in meeting the unit's staffing needs. Clinically practice consistently and effectively with the goal of improving patient satisfaction. The department is open Monday – Friday 630am to 6 pm, and Saturday, 7 am-4 pm, with an on-call team available any time the department is closed for emergencies. Principal Accountabilities Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports. Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions. Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions. Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members. Records patient vital signs and medical information. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required QUALIFICATIONS Current NJ RN license BLS Must be able to push/pull/lift to 35lbs. Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing and / or walking.
