About this Job: General Summary of Position Responsible for patient assessment pre and intra procedural care of patients undergoing invasive procedures or sedation in the Department of Radiology. This is accomplished according to an established plan of care under the direction of the Director of Operations and Radiology Nurse Coordinator in charge of Nursing who is a licensed Registered Nurse. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy policies procedures and standards. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Provides pre-procedure telephone instruction and education to patients relating to their procedure. Performs pre-procedure assessment appropriate documentation of assessment pre-procedure preparation of the patient which includes intravenous access review of allergies and laboratory results application of monitoring equipment and site preparation as indicated. Through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, you will deliver safe, effective, patient-centered care to adult cardiac patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring — including those with acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, dysrhythmias, post-cardiac catheterization and PCI recovery, and cardiac patients with medical-surgical comorbidities.
