Job Description Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Works in the clinical office of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery located at the Mt. Zion and Mission Bay campus. Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning implementation, and evaluation to provide safe therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care, Adult and Pediatrics, administered by other members of the nursing team. Assists the faculty members and residents with initial patient interactions, including interviews with patients; pre-operative and post-operative counseling regarding procedures, and coordinating care with other services. Responsible for medical equipment, purchasing implants, expanders and other supplies/ items needed for surgery and the clinic. In addition, assists with minor office procedures. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Two years of recent RN experience in Plastic Surgery or surgical ambulatory patient care area. Experience with ambulatory nursing clinical triage. Epic training as it relates to APeX used at UCSF Medical Center Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California Current healthcare provider BLS CPR certification. Prior work with Transgender Community and Pediatrics. Experience with Cosmetic products such as Botox, Juvaderm, and Fillers. Knowledge or working experience with Lasers as it relates to Plastic Surgery Knowledge and coordination of pre and post-operative care relating to Plastic Surgery.
