Department Description Critical Care Float RN will provide patient care in the PICU and CVICU. PICU is a 36-bed unit specializing in caring for the immediate needs of critically ill infants, children, and adolescents alongside their families. PICU serves an extremely diverse patient population which includes, solid organ transplant, neurosurgical programs, trauma, respiratory failure, and multi-system organ failure. CVICU is part of the Betty Irene Moore Children’s Heart Center consisting of 36 bed unit that cares for critically ill infants, children, adolescents, and adults with congenital or acquired heart disease. CVICU is recognized globally for providing innovative pediatric advanced cardiac therapies such as heart failure treatments, heart transplant, and ventricular assist devices (VADS). PICU and CVICU have specialized trained nurses that can provide advance treatments such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), high frequency oscillator ventilation (HFOV), continuous rental replacement therapy (CRRT), and peritoneal dialysis (PD).
