Department Description The LPCH Vascular Access Team serves as the primary PICC insertion team for all of Packard Hospital. Inpatient and outpatient procedures are performed as needed, either with sedation or under general anesthesia. The team works in concert with physicians and surgeons, radiologists and nurses to consult, insert, help maintain and discontinue PICC lines. Peripheral IVs are also inserted when needed in cases of difficulties or special patient need, often with ultrasonic assistance. The Vascular Access nurse serves as an expert resource to other nurses and disciplines throughout the house. This position is needed to help augment the vascular access team, covering for vacations, leaves, etc. Schedule: 72 bi-weekly hours, 12-Hour, Night shifts variable, includes every other weekend.
