Schedule: This is a Fulltime, 36 hours a week position (12 Hour Shifts- 7:00pm-7:30am). The Psychiatric Triage/Intake RN works closely with other Admissions and Referral Center (ARC) staff, the physicians, and the patient and their families to establish trust and rapport when interviewing a patient’s medical history, current medications, current health updates, vitals, and the nursing processes to both adult and adolescents to ensure the patients experiences a seamless transition to the unit. Essential Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance sensitivity, diplomacy, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when relating with patients, families and co-workers throughout the admissions process. Provides support and concern for the patient to ease anxiety during the intake and admissions process. Responsible for documentation of patients’ medical history, and findings as part of the assessment and admissions process, continually assesses and reassesses the patient’s medical and psychiatric status and changing needs. Accompanies the patient to the unit and assists with the transition to the unit. Performs duties with frequent interruptions, in close quarters and under time constraints in a professional manner. Maintains a current knowledge of the legal aspects of nursing and of the policies, procedures and regulations of the hospital. Every other weekend Scope of Work Plans and prioritizes care for individuals and population of patients, focusing on strategies that will promote optimal health within populations. Demonstrates expertise, current knowledge in nursing care and management of a caseload of patients of varying complexity and seeks to improve patient, family and health systems / community outcomes through the application of educational concepts / skills and preventive care in a managed care environment. About the unit 1E is a 20 bed Med/Surg unit at Blodgett Hospital. Nurses enjoy working on 1E as you are able to become an expert in so many areas since we care for a wide variety of diagnosis. Some of the patients we care for are those with Respiratory illnesses, Acute Kidney Injuries, DKA, Septic Shock and many more. We also have a surgical population of Mastectomy patients and Thyroidectomy patients. In addition to some of the above stated items, 1E also uses Endotool which is our continuous insulin drip program and utilizes cardiac drips. Teamwork is vital within our unit and the staff work to ensure sound communication with the whole care team. About the Position Mixed Weekend/Weekday Infusion RN Role in the infusion clinic at Lemmen Holton Cancer Pavilion. Serving the oncology and general populations by providing a wide range of infusion services and medication as well as blood product transfusion. Looking for candidates for whom weekend work is preferred and who want to work on a high functioning team. Some orientation days may need to be completed on weekdays as the weekend clinic is a new initiative this year.
