Job Summary Responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients of the Cardiac Cath area while utilizing the nursing process, and acts as a liaison between the Cardiac Cath area and the nursing units to provide continuity of care and optimal communication. Duties & Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, including examination and treatment, under an approved protocol. Evaluate outcomes and adjust nursing care processes as needed to ensure optimal patient care. Evaluate patient medical record and assess lab data to ensure patient preparedness for planned procedure. Anticipate and participate in emergency procedures as necessary. Perform a variety of nursing skills in compliance with physician orders and established Hospital policies and procedures. Communicate with physicians and other departments to consult on patient status and to ensure continuity of care. Respond to cases of cardiopulmonary arrest, fire, disaster or other emergencies in accordance with established procedures. Assume responsibility for own professional development, setting goals and striving to achieve them through available resources, such as attending seminars, in-service training, and/or reading journals. Participate in data collection for national registries in regards to primary angioplasty quality assurance programs. Act as a liaison between the Cardiac Cath Lab and other professional staff. Requirements Graduation from an accredited nursing program and a minimum of three years job-related experience or equivalent is required. Current BLS, ACLS certification and RI State Licensure is also required. Experience must include at least 3 years critical care experience. Knowledge of IABP concepts required. An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) may be considered when combined with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Behavioral Health, Quality Management, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of community-based behavioral health nursing experience required. Experience in quality improvement, utilization management, compliance, accreditation, or healthcare analytics preferred. Experience working within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) strongly preferred. Rhode Island Registered Nurse licensure required. Must have valid driver's license, registration, current inspection sticker and insured auto. Preferred certifications: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) Lean Six Sigma Behavioral Health Quality or Compliance certifications Combination of office, outpatient behavioral health clinic, community, and residential treatment settings. Frequent interaction with clinical staff, patients, regulatory agencies, and organizational leadership. Occasional evening meetings and participation in regulatory surveys may be required. Knowledge of CCBHC requirements, behavioral health regulations, and applicable accreditation standards (CARF, CMS, Medicaid, BHDDH). Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and performance measurement. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with electronic health records and data reporting systems. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.
