Job Summary Follows the nursing process for patients admitted to same day surgery for endoscopy, OR, IV therapy, minor surgery, or IR procedures; communicates with surgeon, endoscopist, interventional radiologist, anesthesia care provider, any other physician or PA; provides report to OR RN, endoscopy nurse, or IR nurse and anesthesia care provider about patient’s relevant patient medical/surgical history and medication allergies; assists patient recovery in Phase 2; accurately documents and charges patient; includes family in patient care and education when possible. Has working knowledge of monitoring patient’s vital signs and taking appropriate actions based on the results and airway management. Essential Functions Ensuring a high standard of nursing care to patients attending the Endoscopy Unit, working within company policies and procedures. The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Clinical Quality & Resource Nurse serves as a clinical resource for ICU staff while promoting excellence in patient care through quality improvement initiatives, concurrent chart review, regulatory compliance, documentation auditing, and staff education.
